Boys and Girls Country of Houston hosts its annual Spring Festival on Saturday, May 5, from 10 AM to 5 PM on their campus at 18806 Roberts Road.

There will be a slew of activities such as rides, live music and dancing, food and auctions.


The Northwest Flyers Track Club, a Cy-Fair area youth track organization, host an open registration and orientation session on Thursday, April 5 at 7 PM at Cypress Creek High School.

Registration for the team is open to local students of all ability levels from age 6 to 18.


Quilting is a practical and enjoyable hobby where sewers stitch together layers of fabric and padding to create something warm and often a true work of art.

Join in on the fun or show off some of your best work at the Tri-County Quilt Guild’s Pieceful Moments Quilt Show, held Friday, March 2, from 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday, March 3, from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Berry Center.


Houston Rodeo Kicks off with BBQ Cook-Off

The only thing more exciting than the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo are the three days that proceed it, when the city fills with the intoxicating aroma of the world’s greatest barbecue and the only thing that can match the flavor is the revelry.

The World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest comes to the Reliant Stadium Parking lot the weekend of February 23 through February 25.


The Lone Star College-Cy Fair Library presents a lineup of special events during the final two weeks of the the brilliant and thought-provoking historical exhibit ‘Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War’ running through February 17.

This is a traveling exhibition for libraries organized by the National Constitution Center and the American Library Association Public Programs Office.


Cy-Fair ISD Presents Student Technology Festival

The third annual Cy-Fair Technology Festival will be held at the Berry Center on Thursday, January 26, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

The Technology Festival is an open showcase for all Cy-Fair ISD students to present their technology projects to the public.


VFW to host Native American Powwow

Enjoy the pageantry of an authentic Native American powwow on Saturday, January 7, at the Cypress VFW Post 8905 beginning at 7:00 pm.

Venturing Crew 32, a large dance and heritage troupe representing Native tribes from across the American South, will perform. They will be dressed in authentic clothing and dancing to a variety of traditional songs. Powwows functioned as an opportunity for families and tribes to unite and celebrate.


Senior/Boomer Health Expo Jan. 14

With the new year just around the corner now is the time we usually begin pondering what changes to make come January for self-improvement. The most popular New Years resolution always seems to be “this is the year I’m going to be more healthy!” This is a noble goal no doubt, but how can older residents turn it into a plan of action?

Come out to the Senior/Boomer Health Expo on Saturday, January 14, at the Copperfield Church from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm hosted by Grace Care Center of Cypress.


Celebrate the new year with the Houston Symphony, performing Saturday, December 31, at the Centrum beginning at 8:00 pm presented by the Cypress Creek Foundation for the Arts and Community Enrichment.

Composer Brett Mitchell will lead the New Year’s Eve concert for the fifth consecutive year.  This concert will be a mixture of both classical and light classical selections that showcase upbeat pieces to liven your spirit as we ring in 2012.

The program will include:


Shop a huge array of fair trade and ethically made products at the Justice Market at the Copperfield Church on Saturday, December 10.

This lively event will feature the market, live holiday music, delicious fair trade coffee, food, raffles and a live concert with the Robbie Seay Band.
