Lone Star College-CyFair (LSC-CyFair) will hold workshops in June offering tips for good books, healthful supplements, royal weddings and dances.
LSC-CyFair’s “Learning, Inspiration, Fellowship, and Enrichment” (L.I.F.E.) programs are free and held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library.
On the first of this month, “Great New Summer Reads” was published and it tells people what new titles are hot and how to find just the right book to read. Valerie Koehler, Blue Willow Book Shop owner presides over the class. You can also sign up for the library’s Summer Reading Program and join the Book Hunters with Susan Green.
Below is a short schedule of additional events/activities this month:
June 8 - Dr. Chase Hayden of the Hayden Institute will present “The Miracle of Omega 3’s.” He’ll be discussing how Omega 3’s are beneficial fatty acids for cardiovascular, brain, immune and hormone health.
June 15 - Kristina Carrillo-Bucaram, is the organizer of the co-op Rawfully Organic and she will be talking about eating local, raw and organic produce in her “Eat it Raw!” presentation. Carrillo-Bucaram is bringing produce and will put together some healthful dishes for everyone to try.
June 22 – “Royal Wedding Madness” will giving up all the good info on Prince William and Kate Middleton. Jo Tubbs will also presenting interesting context including some other romantic and exotic nuptials of royals past and present.
June 29 – “What’s a Wobble?” is a dancercise style class that will help people have fun, while getting in shape with their group dances including the Wedding Wobble, the Electric Slide and the YMCA. Tabby and Shannen Pritts will be leading the class.
