Inaugural Members Inducted Into LSC XI Gamma Chapter

Twelve students were recently inducted into the new Lone Star College Cy-Fair XI Gamma Chapter of Alpha Mu Gamma, the National Collegiate Foreign Language Honor Society.

The Alpha Mu Gamma students inducted include: French student Brandon Bourgeois; Spanish student Rhina Concinos; American Sign Language (ASL) students Kristina Briley, Theresa Gilbert, Leyel Hudson, Leslie Little, Tracilynn Roberts and Cheryl Robertson; English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students Laline Cedpeda, Indira Dortolina, Eddoe Lanz and Yesul Shin.

All of the new members were welcomed by French faculty member Georges Detiveaux and then presented with certificates, membership cards, pins, and graduation cords by Dean Anne Albarelli, whose academic division includes world languages and ASL.

Following the ceremony members met and elected the chapter’s first State of Officers for the 2011-2012 academic year. Lanz was chosen to be chapter President, Roberts was chosen to be chapter Vice President, Briley was chosen as Secretary, Dortolina was chosen as Treasurer and Bourgeois was chosen to be the Historian.

This exciting new addition proves once again that Lone Star College Cy-Fair is a wonderful choice for Cypress residents who are interested in expanding their knowledge!
