CFISD Recognized in National Spotlight for Efficiency

American School & University Top 10 Issue (December 2010) recognized Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District for having one of the lowest per pupil expenditures among the 100 largest public school districts in the nation.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, and based on both operations and facilities debt costs for the 2008 fiscal year, Cypress Fairbanks ISD has had the fifth lowest per pupil expenditure. Four Utah school districts were the only entities to rank ahead of CFISD in efficiency.

The Top 10 issue ranked Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District as eighth in the fastest enrollment growth among the largest 100 school districts in the nation. Due to the fast growth rate of CFISD it is very impressive that there is still a low expenditure per pupil.

CFISD was also identified last fall by the Education Resource Group as the most fiscally efficient district in Texas and CFISD was one of only 43 public school districts in Texas to receive a five star rating from the office of Susan Coombs, Texas Comptroller for Academic and Financial performance in the Financial Allocation Study for Texas released in December.
