26th Annual Precinct 3 Memorial Day Ceremony at Bear Creek War Memorial
Posted on May 25, 2010 | Tagged in: Events

This Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, at 2:00 p.m., Commissioner Steve Radack’s Precinct 3 office will once again host the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at The War Memorial located in the Bear Creek Park. Each year, the office arranges to add the names of Harris County’s fallen servicemen and women to the War Memorial wall in a short ceremony recognizing the fallen heros.
This year is perhaps even more special because the ceremony experienced its first ever cancellation last year due to park flooding. Additionally, this year will include not only fallen soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, but also the addition of a WWII Harris County veteran’s name, which is yet to be disclosed, and resulting from the culmination of efforts by both the veterans’ family and Radack’s office to verify the residence and service.
The ceremony will also include a special guest speaker, drills by the Houston Police Department Honor Guard, and a performance of The Star Spangled Banner and America the Beautiful by Rachael Boettcher.
Please come out and enjoy Memorial Day in Bear Creek Park while participating in a ceremony honoring our country’s most courageous servicemen and women.
